Important Announcement

I have decided to make the difficult decision to pause our current retail operations. (Note: we will fulfill any open orders that are on a short back order and open saddle orders.) This decision did not come lightly, and I assure you I looked at every angle possible to maintain our status quo. However, the amount of time and energy and mental-load it takes to keep up with inventory, bookkeeping, website updates, numbers-crunching, customer service, processing and shipping orders, etc. for the retail side requires much more bandwidth than I am capable of handling.

This, combined with the instability of our economy and the inflated cost of material, mainly the U.S. stainless steel we use for our bits, all the hardware we use in our saddles and tack, and also the petroleum-based synthetic materials, has made it difficult for small independent businesses like mine to make informed business decisions. So much goes into running a retail business, but it’s exponentially more on the plate for businesses like mine who work directly with our builders and manufacturers and our customers, without any third parties!

For most of my adult life I have been dedicated to helping horses and their humans not only become comfortable under saddle, but also with assisting them on their journey with their horse of achieving their best natural gait, in good, sound form. It’s been an honor and continues to be.

I have been conducting one-on-one Zoom sessions with men and women all over the country, helping advise on saddle fit evaluation, gait analysis, and gait training coaching, to great success! For over 20 years I had already been doing this, but it had become more of a courtesy service, albeit a very timely one.

I have been able to translate my long-learned unique skill set of virtually communicating with our customers as we worked together through all sorts of issues brought to me regarding their horses’ saddles and tack, behavioral concerns, and gait development. I realize I can continue to help the gaited horse community by offering one-on-one virtual Zoom training and consultation sessions. While I’m not currently able to offer our wonderful line of tack, I will be able to assist in meaningful ways.

For anyone still looking to purchase anything from the Imus 4-Beat line of tack, I will continue working behind the scenes looking for the perfect partners to absorb a good chunk of the retail load that I simply do not have the capacity to do myself.

In the meantime, our store is currently selling the remaining in-stock saddle inventory at a considerable discount, along with our high-quality locally made tack.

An announcement for available bookable sessions with me will be posted online soon. I’m working on the online scheduling platform now to offer gait training sessions (single or ongoing), saddle fit evaluations and consultation, gait analysis, and advice and consultations regarding most other horse-related concerns that I can pull out my ‘toolbox’ and help get to the bottom of! It’s my favorite part of what I do.
