THIS HORSE HAS BEEN SOLD! THANK YOU FOR LOOKING. 🙂
I am listing this horse for a good friend, I have ridden him personally on trails for 7-8 hours and also on the roads at home. He never quit me on the trails no matter how tough and rugged the terrain, and was willing to go all day long.
He is happy and compliant to go at the speed you ask though, and does not get pushy or ‘rammy’ with you. On the roads he has a pretty nice rack with decent medium speed. I would guess he can go at least 15 m.p.h. or so–maybe more, and he really covers the ground quite effortlessly without seeming to be working at it too hard. So he is no peanut pusher, but he will happily go slower or at whatever speed the rider wishes.
He has very good bone substance without being overly ‘meaty’, and a nice high wither and a rather short back. Shod he measures 14.3 plus 1/4″. Seems like he would be well suited for Endurance or difficult trail riding with his nice strong and rugged conformation.
I got along real well with him and I think anyone that can ride well can ride him. He was in a double twisted wire mouthed curb/gag bit with the previous owner (which he surely didn’t need, and I understand he hated that bit), but I used my Imus Comfort Gait bit with him as well as my 4Beat saddle and he just got better and better the longer I rode him. It seems that he is just learning how to give himself to a gentle/humane bit and this is somewhat new to him, but it shouldn’t be long before he is completely soft and giving to bit pressures. In time, he might even be suitable as a kid’s horse.
He will come a running to you in the pasture and has a happy personality, there is a whole lot to like about this horse. The only thing I can say against him was that if you ride him very slowly on a long loose rein he tended to camel walk, but when you ask for a little speed and collection that changed into his real nice rack, and I would swing a leg over him and enjoy riding him anytime.

I believe she also has some videos of him being ridden that she may be able to send you, as well as additional pictures. Thanks for looking! 🙂
